Things I hate about summer.......

Okay, so I have been going on and on about how much I love summer. Well just so you don't get tired of listening to me. (I bet that's already happened a couple times huh?)I am going to share with you all the things I hate about summer. I know, I know, hard to believe there is anything to hate about summer and being off work. But surprisingly there really are quite a few things that drive me crazy, that only happen in the summer time. Here's my list:

1. Repeating over and over ("repeating" in June "SCREAMING" in August) "Shut the door the AIR IS ON"!!!

2. Never ending laundry (as if it is not that way normally it is worse in the summer) why do the kids feel like they need a completely new outfit every time they get out of the pool. Of course this has become a worse issue now that the "redneck pool" is in the back yard.

3. Higher grocery bill and more trips to the store because not only are my kids 10 times more hungry in the summer (due to boredom and copious amounts of time in the pool) but so are the neighborhood kids. Now don't get me wrong (in case my neighbors read my blog lol) I know my kids eat at the neighbors too. However, because I am home in the summer there are always extra kids at my house.

4. The constant messes....Is it so hard to pick up your clothes up off the floor? (you know after your 4th clean outfit of the day). Or how about the cups and bowls left all over the house? Even if you won't put it in the dishwasher can you at least get it back to the kitchen and I will take care of it? After you play a board game, or the Wii can you put it back? Or when you take your scooter, rip stick, power wing, softball gloves and balls outside can you please put these things away or at least bring them back in the house so our front yard doesn't look as "redneck" as our back porch

5. And last but not least I hate summer because the Englishman loves to remind me over and over and OVER again how it "must be nice" to be off work for 8 weeks in the summer....UGH!!!

Well considering it has been HOT HOT HOT here in sunny Florida we have been spending a lot of time in our "redneck" pool. We even went to a friends house yesterday to swim in their "redneck" pool. It was their first day with their "redneck" pool and I assured my friend it is worth every penny and all her aggravation. She had a heck of a time leveling her back yard (she didn't have the luxury of a cement screen covered porch) but her pool looks great and I know their going to have a blast in it this summer. Here's hoping you have a great day...........

Here are the pictures from the Rays game.
Can't wait to go again. We promised Mighty Mouth we would spend a little more next time and get a little closer. She is excited to take her glove and to try to catch a foul ball.....

Is it Sunday again?

Another week has flown by. We are totally loving summer. Here are a few highlights of our week.

Went to the movies and saw "UP" really cute and made me a little teary eyed a couple of times (Shh don't tell anyone)

Went to my first Rays game with the Englishman and Mighty Mouth and Miss Priss and had a blast. Spur of the moment on Friday night off we went. It was great I have pictures I will share later.

Went to Chuck E Cheese and continue to be amazed how quickly kids can go through 225 tokens.

Went in our "Redneck pool" every day and are totally enjoying it. I even snuck in once by myself for a couple hours on a raft with a book it was awesome.

Remembered how busy the social calender of an almost 16 year old can be and am actually looking forward to when she can drive by herself so I don't have to play taxi. (wait did I just say that?)

Looking forward to another week of summer fun.........

Mom can we take one home???

We went to a Birthday party today that had a little petting farm. Too cute!!! I don't know how I missed getting a photo of Mighty Mouth holding one of the critters but I did get her riding on the motor bike. She loved it. I am sure that will be on her Christmas list next year. It was a great party so you know now I am hearing "Mom, can we do that for our birthdays?" We'll see, we'll see......

Happy Birthday Englishman

Today is the Englishman's 41st Birthday. I met him when he was 21 so that means he has now known me for twenty years. (such a lucky guy) I am thrilled to have been able to have celebrated the last twenty birthdays with him. Bless his heart he is having a very wet day. He is a delivery driver for UPS and it has been pouring off and on all day. (typical Florida weather, hour of sunshine followed by an hour of rain) But the girls and I will make sure he has a great Birthday "weekend" if not such a great day. Happy Birthday babe I love you more than words!!!!!!!

You know your a Redneck when....................

Well after much debate with the Englishman I bought the girls a "redneck" pool as the Englishman calls it. We put it up on the back screen porch under the open screen roof portion so it still gets sun. As you can see it barely fit but I am so glad it did because I didn't want to get the smaller one. I wanted the girls to have a little room to move around in it. They are thrilled even Soccer Girl said she will enjoy laying on a raft in it. The younger two were in it until 11pm last night even though it still wasn't full of water yet. It took all day to fill. Of course we have my Mom's gorgeous in ground pool less than a mile a way but it will be nice to have this one right out back whenever they want to hop in it. I have to say it was the easiest install ever. They are not kidding when they say "ready for water in 45 min" of course I had the advantage that I didn't have to clear any ground because it went up on our cement patio. But it is 15 foot around and 4ft deep and I think it is going to get a lot of use this summer..........
